Neptune High School's "EDU-Wins"
An EDU-Win is an academic success story in the classroom. Whether it be a win in the classroom, a personal student win, a great idea or simply a phenomenal effort, Neptune High School is filled with a growing collection of EDU-Wins everyday and we are proud to show them off.
September 28th, 2013: An Edu-Win for Mrs. Richardson! Ms. Richardson earned her EDU-Win during Back-To-School Night. BTSN came to you live and via pre-recorded messages thanks to the work Ms. Richardson put in the NHS TV Studio to make the evening program a success. See photo here!
September 15th, 2013: An Edu-Win for Mrs. Bonnell & Ms. Harvey for integrating technology in the classroom as students begin to use Animoto in the classroom!
Mrs. Bonnell and I just wanted to share how proud we our of our English II students' effort and performance on their first class project of the year! Student were assigned a project to use Animoto.com to create a 30 second commercial video using the persuasive appeals- ethos, pathos, and logos to promote a worthy cause of their choice. Using all 3 appeals, students designed videos with campaigns promoting various messages such as anti-smoking, anti-texting and driving, keeping our oceans clean, pet adoption, and the importance of getting a mammogram. For the final culmination of the project, students showed their commercials to their peers via the Smart Board in the media center. For this two day project, our students were not only engaged in their learning, but used their knowledge, creativity, and technology skills to take ownership of their final product.
